Generic chat apps don’t know about matters, walls or retention. OneChat does, because it is part of the workspace that holds them.

Attach Word, PDF, Excel and more, or drop a file on the message box. Download it, forward it to a colleague, or copy a link that opens for everyone who can see it.

Every emoji, and GIFs

React with any emoji, in any skin tone, and send a GIF when the deal closes. GIFs come with no ads, and searches go through OneLegal’s servers.

Schedule a message for Monday morning, or save one for later with a reminder. Your drafts wait for you in every conversation.

Set a status, pause notifications, mute a busy channel or star the ones you live in. Mark everything as read with Shift and Esc.

CALLS

Pick up the phone without leaving the deal

Start an audio or video call from any direct message, group or channel. It rings for the people in it, and anyone in a channel can join. The call keeps going while you open the contract you’re talking about.

Encrypted end to end

Sound and video go straight from one browser to the other, encrypted on the way. A code on screen lets two people check that nobody is in between.

Never recorded, never stored

No sound or video passes through or stays on OneLegal’s servers. The conversation keeps one line: a call happened, and how long it lasted.

Made for slow connections

Voices come first. Speech is compressed to around 20 kilobits a second, and on a weak line the picture shrinks or pauses before anyone stops hearing you.

Data saver

A lighter picture and lighter sound for mobile data or poor Wi-Fi, switched on by itself when the browser says the connection is slow.

A friendly face on every conversation

Polly is OneChat’s guide: the smiling bubble in the corner of every page, with a blink to say there’s something new. Open it and Polly walks you through what you can do. Where your company switches it on, Polly AI answers questions in a chat of your own, and can answer in any conversation when you ask it to, so everyone sees the same answer.

Polly AI never trains on your conversations, and your company can turn it off.

Rules for each channel

Channel managers decide who posts and who can notify everyone. Thread replies stay open, so the conversation never stops.

Your edit window and retention

Choose how long people can edit or delete their messages. Messages are kept for your company’s period, set by OneLegal for you, then deleted for good.

People and permissions

OneChat follows your members, teams and roles, including roles you define. Switch GIFs or calls off, or the whole of OneChat, for your company.

Server to server, always

Your people’s browsers talk only to OneLegal, and to each other in a call. Anything from outside, such as GIFs, is fetched by OneLegal’s servers, so outside services never see who your people are.

Is OneChat a separate app?

No. It is part of OneLegal and opens from the button at the bottom left of every page, so the conversation is always one click from the contract.

Can our admins read our messages?

No. Admins see how OneChat is used, in numbers. They can’t read conversations, and OneLegal is built so that they can’t.

How long are messages kept?

For your company’s retention period, two years unless you agree another with us (from one to ten years). After that, messages and their documents are deleted.

What can we share?

Links, GIFs and documents: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument text, RTF, text and CSV, up to 25 MB each. Every file is checked by its contents, not just its name.

Are calls recorded or kept anywhere?

No. Sound and video go straight between your people’s browsers, encrypted end to end. They never pass through or stay on OneLegal’s servers, and nothing is recorded. The conversation shows only that a call happened and how long it lasted.

Will calls work on a slow connection?

Yes. Voices come first: speech needs very little data, and when the connection weakens the picture gets smaller, then pauses, so everyone can still hear each other. Data saver uses less again on mobile data.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. OneChat works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, in light and dark mode.

Who is Polly?

Polly is the smiling face of OneChat, there to guide you through it. Where your company turns it on, Polly AI answers questions in a chat of your own, and its answers can appear in any conversation when you ask it to.
